One Last Competitor Joins the Greatest Dallasites Fray

Voting continues through Friday.

You might have noticed that we’re no longer showing you the up-to-the-minute rankings of our Greatest Dallasites competitors. We’ve hidden those from public view in order not to spoil the final list of the top 100, which will appear in the December 2016 issue of D Magazine. With a few days of voting left — finishing at the end of Friday — there’s still time for some shakeups.

I’ve received quite a number of nominations for worthy contenders that we may have overlooked when assembling our contest. As you know, we’ve made several additions since we started last Monday. Now I’m putting up one last person for your consideration: Dr. Edward Cary.

Cary is credited as the driving force behind Baylor University Medical Center and UT-Southwestern as we know them today. There might not be a medical school in Dallas now without Cary’s efforts decades ago.

Where will he finish among the 303 nominees? That’s up to our readers, including you.
