Phillip Huffines Elected Chairman of Dallas County Republican Party. After tea partier Mark Montgomery resigned the seat last month, leaving just $180 in the bank, the party needed to get its act together. Last night, in a 120-26 vote, they elected the Dallas real estate developer and twin brother of state Sen. Don Huffines. First order of business: overdraft protection.

H-E-B/Central Market Buys Six Dallas Grocery Stores. Will they become H-E-Bs or Central Markets? Let the anticipation begin at these spots: in McKinney, Hardin Boulevard and El Dorado Parkway; in Grapevine, Highway 121 and Hall Johnson; and in Dallas, McKinney and Lemmon, Northwest Highway and Midway, Northwest Highway and Ferndale, Mockingbird and Abrams. If the Sun Fresh at that last location turns into a Central Market, my life will be perfect.

Shin-Soo Choo Breaks His Arm. The Rangers beat Oakland yesterday, but Choo was hit by a pitch that fractured his arm, which sounds like it would hurt. It looks like he could miss at least the rest of the regular season.
