It has been a tragic week. Here are a few moments of grace.
When Mark Cuban donated $1 million to the Dallas Police Department to provide increased security in the gayborhood following Sunday’s deadly attack at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.
When Phoebe, an adorable golden retriever and trained therapy dog from Fort Worth, was deployed to Orlando to provide comfort to survivors.
When Nihar Janga, an 11-year-old from Irving who’s the co-winner of the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee, visited the Dallas Cowboys’ training facility and challenged Jason Garrett to spell Gesellschaft. (I had to look it up. It means a social group bound by ties to a common goal, as opposed to personal connections.) And then got a big hug from his idol, Dez Bryant.
