Things To Do In Dallas Tonight: May 23

LBJ vs JFK vs Nixon.

Who wins in a fight between John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Richard Nixon? Kennedy goes down early with his bad back, but lends moral support to Johnson, taking verbal jabs at Nixon — who is at this point just drenched in panic sweat — from ringside. Tricky Dick, a roll of quarters snuck tightly into his right fist, gets his shots in on the Flexin’ Texan, but the Johnson Treatment proves too much for Nixon’s street-fighting tactics to overcome. LBJ wins by TKO in round 10.

This is probably not the kind of fight examined in LBJ vs JFK vs Nixon, a book about the 1960 presidential election by David Pietrusza, who will speak tonight at the Sixth Floor Museum. But we’re prone to flights of fancy, and to writing lists of things to do in Dallas.

The LBJ vs JFK vs Nixon talk at 6 pm coincides with the opening of a Sixth Floor temporary exhibit about the subject.

Award-winning author Stephen Graham Jones reads from his new book at Wild Detectives.

Alamo Drafthouse is showing Lethal Weapon. Classic.
