David Bowie-centric events are cropping up left and right this week, starting tonight with a tribute show at the Granada. In other, nothing-to-do-with-David-Bowie things to do, we have an acclaimed play beginning previews at Second Thought Theatre, and a Motown-inspired musical returning to North Texas.

Following a performance by the Bowie tribute act Thin White Dukes, the Granada will screen Labyrinth, starring a Goblin King played by a familiar face. Some of the proceeds from this “Remembering Bowie” event — hopefully you haven’t already forgotten him — will go toward Young Texans Against Cancer.

Martyr, a Second Thought Theatre production of an acclaimed play about religious fundamentalism, puberty, and fear, starts pay-what-you-can previews tonight at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Theater campus. Opening night is Friday.

Motown: The Musical, the hit production with the unimpeachable source material, returns to North Texas. The show’s at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth through the weekend.
