I’m getting a head start on my New Year’s Resolution, and I advise that you do the same. If you wait until Jan. 1, it’s already too late.

If you have resolved to do more things in Dallas, you’re in the right place.

Rather than describe the work of Sally Mann, I am going to link you to a selection of her photographs. The internet is a wonderful thing. The acclaimed photographer will speak about her new memoir, which has plenty of pictures, tonight at the Fort Worth Modern.

The Singapore Slingers, Dallas-based retro swing band of some note, will dive into the Christmas standards in its Winter Revue at Pocket Sandwich Theatre.

Clarkston, a new play that has something to do with Lewis and Clark, Costco, and the ennui of modern life, is in its early days at the Dallas Theater Center. It’s showing on the sixth floor of the Wyly.

Did the world need a musical based on a Will Ferrell Christmas movie? I certainly don’t remember anybody asking for it, but here we are. Elf The Musical starts a two-week run tonight at the Music Hall at Fair Park.
