Ethan ‘Affluenza’ Couch To Appear on 20/20 Tonight

You might want to set your DVR for 20/20 tonight, if for no other reason than to see correspondent Matt Gutman work himself into high dudgeon over the Ethan Couch story. You can get a sample of Gutman's work in this preview of tonight's episode. Which is not to say that Couch and his family aren't reprehensible. We called the Couches "the worst parents ever" on our May cover. It's just that Gutman, for my taste, is a bit much. If you want to know what happened the night that Couch killed four people, read Mike Mooney's 5,500-word story. Mike had access to court documents that, at the time, no other media outlet had seen. Tonight's report is based on video depositions of the Couch family that will be shown for the first time. And Gutman says he spent a week here in town, "staking out" the family. So there's that. If you want melodrama, you know where to find it.
