Entertainment Weekly Does Not Like Truth

Truth -- the movie based on Mary Mapes' 2005 book, Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power, in which the former 60 Minutes producer recounted the events that led to her firing -- received fair amount of buzz following its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Cate Blanchett, who stars as Mapes, had more than few people mentioning her in connection with the Oscars. Not everyone loves it, though. In his review for Entertainment Weekly, Chris Nashawaty gives it a C and says:
... the movie is too deep in the tank for its subjects, especially Mapes, whose book the film is based on. They come across more like righteous fourth-estate saints than journalists who might have been a bit too hungry for a gotcha scoop. For a movie about the importance of objectivity, Truth feels like a biased and sanctimonious op-ed column.
