In our March issue, which is rolling out on the newsstand now (online March 2), Peter Simek profiles Patrick Kennedy (with all the appropriate disclosures). In trying to decide whether we should write about Patrick, we had a conversation that went something like this:

“Yeah, but he’s, like, our friend.”

“True, but he’s also kind of a big deal.”

“But his blog is housed on our server.”

“Also true. But the guy is almost single-handedly responsible for the discussion the city is having about tearing down and rebuilding an elevated highway. It’s probably the biggest transportation story going in the country right now. Just because we’ve had beers with him doesn’t mean we shouldn’t write about the guy.”

Then we flipped a quarter to decide. Anyway, today the following exchange happened on Twitter. Gives some indication that the quarter made the right call.
