D CEO magazine won top honors when the Alliance of Area Business Publishers presented its 2014 Editorial Excellence awards in Baltimore June 21. D CEO received five gold awards, a silver award and a bronze award, including recognition as the nation’s best regional business magazine.

In presenting the gold award for best magazine, the judges said D CEO “combines consistency with surprise” and “presents an authoritative understanding of northern Texas that inspires readers to think and respond.”

AABP’s annual competition recognizes excellence in journalism, photography, and design by regional business publications throughout the United States, Canada, and Australia. Nearly 660 entries were submitted this year, up from 573 in 2013. Faculty from the University of Missouri’s prestigious School of Journalism served as judges.

“This makes two years in a row now that we’ve won five gold awards and been named the country’s top regional business magazine in the AABP competition,” said Glenn Hunter, D CEO’s executive editor. “That’s a real tribute to the skill and dedication of our entire staff.”
