Mainly, I advise you to be careful tonight.

However, the incredible, Tony Award-winning Bernadette Peters is performing at the Meyerson, so I guess if there’s a someone who might be worth risking life and limb, it’s her. No matter how many episodes of Toddlers and Tiaras you watch, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more overbearing stage mom than Rose, the unmarried matriarch of the musical Gypsy who pushes her two daughters into show business. Though the original production opened in 1958, Peters reinvented the role with her portrayal in 2003. Peters will charm you with music from Broadway and the American songbook.

This is technically tomorrow morning, but the Good/Bad Art Collective will show their infomercial, filmed as part of the Nasher Sculpture Center’s Nasher XChange public works project, at 3 a.m. On TV! You don’t even have to leave your house or put on real clothes! Isn’t that great? Tune in to KTXA channel 21. Peter Simek has more information about the infomercial over on FrontRow, part of his visual art picks for the weekend.

Finally, Casablanca screens tonight at the Angelika at 7 p.m.. Let’s get weepy.  And have tacos for dinner. For more to do tonight, go here.
