Buy Lanny Wadkins’ House

The golfer is now an empty nester. Time to downsize.

WadkinsLet’s say you have a small- to mid-size marijuana grow operation. Sure, you could spread it out across 11 houses in Richardson and Dallas. But then each one of those houses becomes a potential bust, with pesky neighbors at every turn, wondering about the unmowed yard and the lights left on continuously. So why not think bigger? Like, say, Lanny Wadkins’ old place. At 9,521 square feet, it offers plenty of growing room. And that putting green and practice area? More room for pot!

The house, which is near Preston Trail, will be put up for auction December 19. It was previously on the market for $2.295 million, but there’s no reserve. Maybe you can pick it up for $399,000 and the promise of all the kind bud that Lanny can ever smoke. More details, if you’re interested:

Concierge Auctions is pleased to announce the December 19th auction of the Fairway Estate, a luxurious family home in North Dallas conveniently located near exceptional private schools, the Preston Trail Golf Club, the Bent Tree Country Club, and Downtown Dallas. The 9,521-square-foot home offers beautiful detail throughout its five bedrooms, five full and three half bathrooms, and extensive amenities including a pool, 9-hole putting green and practice area, and shuffleboard court. Previously offered for $2.295 million, the property will be sold to the highest bidder during a live auction in cooperation with Mike Brodie of Keller Williams Realty Luxury Homes International.

“We completed major renovations to the home in 2004 and really love the larger space that was created. My entire family has enjoyed living in this warm and comfortable home; it was a great place for entertaining and for my boys to hang out with their friends,” stated the seller, Lanny Wadkins. “Our location is ideal – it is in a very safe, beautiful neighborhood near great schools and convenient to absolutely everything, including all of the activity of downtown Dallas. We have enjoyed each year living here, but since our children are grown and I’ve been traveling more, it is time to find new owners who can make this wonderful place their home.”

This North Dallas estate is the epitome of luxury Texas living. Offering meticulous finishes throughout, the home features a grand wood and iron railing staircase, which frames the entryway, while an intricate wood and marble floor anchors the space. The main floor includes an elegant sitting room, a gorgeous light-filled library with full view of the lush front yard, and a spacious family room that opens to the gourmet kitchen.

The most notable private space is the elegant master suite, complete with fireplace, sitting area, and luxurious master bath with his and her closets, his and her vanities, steam shower, sauna and private workout room. The backyard is set up for endless fun, with the on-property putting green and practice area, shuffleboard court, and pool.

As the ninth largest city in the United States, Dallas boasts burgeoning business, cultured cuisine, attention to the arts, respected recreation and athletic teams, and exposure to some of the most elite shopping, charitable work and history. Dallas has more restaurants per capita than New York City and more shopping centers per capita than any other city in the US.

“Between the convenient location, exclusive community, first-rate amenities, and stunning design, the chance to purchase this home is a fantastic opportunity for any buyer seeking a comfortable and luxurious Dallas lifestyle,” stated Brodie. “The home is a great blend of entertaining and comfort living. I’m looking forward to partnering with Concierge Auctions, as I’m familiar with their process and have personally experienced one of their first-class, live auctions. I am confident that our combined efforts will result in a successful sale on auction day.”

“Mr. Wadkins and his family are committed to moving on with a sale by the end of the year,” stated Laura Brady, Managing Director of Concierge Auctions. “Texas has always been a strong market for us, including our recent auctions of the Riven Rock Ranch in the Hill Country and the M Mansion in Dallas. We look forward to once again proving our method is the most effective way for qualified buyers to secure unique properties with ease — for a fair price in a transparent forum, with no negotiations and pre-agreed contract terms.”

The auction of the Fairway Estate, located at 6002 Kettering Court in Dallas, Texas, will be held live on December 19th. A 3% commission is offered to the buyer’s representing broker. The property will be available for preview daily from 1-4pm and by appointment. See Auction Terms and Conditions for full details. The fluff piece says that the manse is conveniently located near Downtown Dallas. Really? Just south of the Collin County line and it’s convenient to Downtown? I wonder if the rest of the description is as truthful.

75248… Far North Dallas. The place Tim loves to hate.

Near Bent Tree CC and downtown? It’s 15 miles from downtown, with the gawdawful traffic up there it’s an hour at least from downtown at rush hour, if there’s an accident way more.

Nice house but the worst location in what is a very nice neighborhood. The house across Preston Trail seems like the annex for a small luxury car dealership. Always at least 4-5 cars parked in the two driveways, sometimes more like 10. I used to drive by there several times a day and it was a bit weird. Maybe that has changed since.
