LaTroy Hawkins is a journeyman Major League Baseball pitcher who lives in Collin County, though of the 10 teams he’s played for none of them has been the Texas Rangers. On Sunday night, Hawkins was headed to a dove hunting trip in Argentina, on a flight from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Santiago, Chile, when he helped subdue an unruly passenger.

An American Airlines spokesman confirmed to ESPN New York (Hawkins, a free agent, spent this past season with the Mets) that the flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Peru and that two passengers assisted the flight crew to remove the man causing the disturbance on the plane.
