Meanwhile, over at the Morning News, Rudy Bush has done a little digging to find out how much money Yellow Cab’s president, Jack Bewley, and his wife have donated to councilmembers in recent years. Since 2007, they’ve given $56,000 to councilmembers and candidates. How did this measure wind up on the consent agenda (it has since been pulled) without any debate in committee? Money. That’s how. Jack Bewley might not be Floyd Richards, but money is still changing hands, and councilmembers are still more concerned about the cheddar than they are their constituents.
