Sarah Palin to Attend Chris Kyle’s Memorial

From her Facebook page this morning:

I find it sad to see that flags aren’t flying at half staff for this American hero. We’re surrounded today by American patriots here in Texas – by Chris’ fellow veterans and active duty warriors. In honor of them, I hope our commander in chief pays his respects in some gesture of condolence for their comrade in arms who sacrificed so much to keep him and all of us safe.

We may never know to what extent Chris kept us free or how many lives he saved by his brave actions in the line of fire. But his fellow warriors know how important he was. My son Track couldn’t meet Chris when Todd and I first met him because Track was deployed to Iraq. Then when we got to know Chris even better, our son was deployed in Afghanistan. We’ve met a lot of people in recent years, and Track has been privileged to meet them as well. But he said about Chris, “Mom, he’s the ONE person in the entire world I would be star-struck to meet. He’s it.”

The service starts at 1 p.m. at Cowboys Stadium; it could end up being the largest memorial service for a military member in state history.

Donations are down because of Veronika Pozner and Alexis Haller.

“I find it sad to see that flags aren’t flying at half staff for this American hero.” Can she say anything that doesn’t lash out at someone? What a total POS human.

She can’t even attend a memorial service without turning it into a partisan shot. Stay classy.

Partisan shot? I am not a Sarah Palin fan and I’m not a republican so is it a partisan shot for me to say that I couldn’t agree more? How can our government honor a famous singer with ordering flags at half staff and yet not for an American hero who put his life on the line on many occasions? Where’s the respect? He even died doing an honorable thing, trying to help out a fellow servicemen who was struggling.

  • Matthew Wontorcik

She is just speaking out about an injustice. If it is true flags were not at half staff for such a highly decorated American hero but they were for a famous celebrity, it just speaks to what society values. A beautiful singer is more valuable to this country than someone who put their life on the line over and over again. If that makes her a POS human than you can consider me one too. Get your priorities straight, and stop letting your bias against her influence your perception of everything she says.

Obama was already scheduled to present Romesha with the MOH, so to distinguish Kyle by honoring him with another agenda he’s keen on he decided the Ron Paul approach was more fitting than the so commonly used flag thing.

What about the 1000’s of other soldiers that were killed actually in the line of duty? Just because this soldier killed more people, he deserves more accolades and the honor of flags at half staff and they don’t? He handed the guy the gun thatshift him, on his own time and after leaving the military. He’s getting PLENTY of special attention, but for the government to officially lower flags for him and not soldiers killed in a war zone would be wrong. Palin needs to get back on her broom and fly back to the North Pole where she belongs. She lowers the IQ of everyone she gets near simply by breathing.

Pretty patriot princess Sarah Palin is popular with the people. Did George Bush attend Kyle’s funeral?

PDS is strong with this one.

While flags were not flown for Chris Kyle, I can agree with some people’s points, “What about the thousands of other service members?” I am an ex-service member myself, and don’t expect a flag at half mast when my funeral bell tolls. But why did we fly it half mast for a pop diva? What did she do for herself or her community besides snort her career away, finally ending in a drug-cocktail drowning? Her passing, while sad, definitely did not deserve a half mast. That just goes to show we value everything that is wrong.

To clear up some internet misinformation, flags were only flown at half-mast for Whitney Houston in New Jersey, not across the country. I’m not trying to argue the larger point, just addressing the smaller one.

  • Sean Dolan

Obama DID NOT order flags to half staff for Whitney…. The state flag of NJ was lowered by that state, and only that state.
