Texas Sonogram Law Discussed on Fresh Air

By Bradford Pearson |

The Texas sonogram law – which (in very, very basic terms) requires women seeking abortions to receive a sonogram – went into effect on Feb. 6, 2012. Austin resident Carolyn Jones had an abortion two weeks later. She wrote about her experience in a piece for the Texas Observer entitled “‘We Have No Choice’: One Woman’s Ordeal with Texas’ New Sonogram Law.”

Today, the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Jones talked to Terry Gross about the law, and its repercussions.
