To which I say: finally.
In the end, it’s no surprise the city hired one of its own, Mary Jo Giudice, who’s worked for the system since 2004. Candidates came and went, the “went” part mostly because the library budget is anemic compared to other major cities. It’s easier to convince someone to take a promotion than to move across the country, I assume.
That said, the materials budget jumped this year, so maybe we’re turning a corner.
