In case you missed it, here’s the 60 Minutes segment from last night about the giant Chinese company Huawei, whose North American headquarters are in Plano (or you can read the transcript here). Huawei makes the digital networks that make your smartphone fast and fun, but some folks think the company is too secretive and way too Chinese. Here’s how Republican Congressman Mike Rogers puts it:
“If I were an American company today, and I’ll tell you this as the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and you are looking at Huawei, I would find another vendor if you care about your intellectual property, if you care about your consumers’ privacy, and you care about the national security of the United States of America.”
