well that story has provided more information than that provided by the MSM. thanks for sharing

“The Washington Free Beacon, a project of the 501(c)4 Center for American Freedom, is a nonprofit online newspaper that began publication on February 7, 2012. Dedicated to uncovering the stories that the professional left hopes will never see the light of day, the Free Beacon produces in-depth and investigative reporting on a wide range of issues, including public policy, government affairs, international security, and media criticism.”

I don’t think she gets “hammered.” Basically, it’s a regurgitation of things we already knew about her late husband’s deep involvement with Edwards. As for the rest, we already knew that she is a Democrat and that she is rich, and that makes her a rich Democrat. Rich Democrats give money to Democrats. Not a big revelation, that.

    • @Wick Allison: That’s what I meant by “hammered.” You put it better.

  • Wick Allison

Peterk, if this is news to you, you haven’t been paying attention. For MSM coverage, google John Edwards and Fred Baron. That’s what the writer of this piece did.

  • ket

Wick: That’s a bold assertion to accuse the writer of just compiling the results of a simple google search and throwing in some very bland quotes.

The “writer” may have used Bing.

  • Glenn Hunter

Wick, I’m not sure that some of this report wouldn’t be news to local readers who relied on the local media for their understanding of Blue (and Baron). For example, the information about Jennifer Palmieri’s testimony. It shows that Blue was very much involved in the sleazy Rielle Hunter business, right alongside Baron.

The Free Beacon account places them both in a room with Elizabeth Edwards, explaining why it was necessary to keep Hunter quiet and out of sight: ” ‘Lisa was saying [to Elizabeth] that you’ve got to hold your friends close and your enemies closer,’ she said. ‘Rielle was a loose cannon and we just didn’t know what she would say to the press.’ ”

Also, the quote from Blue lamenting that politicians have to be paid for all because of that evil Supreme Court ruling, is especially ridiculous.

Jay Cost is cited in this Washington Free Beacon article as “an elections expert,” nothing more. No ideological bent there, right?

That’s funny, a classic Glenn Hunter locution one could say.

Cost’s conservative employer, on the other hand, is actually honest, and thus describes him as “a staff writer for The Weekly Standard and the author of Spoiled Rotten, a critical history of the Democratic party, forthcoming from Broadside Books.”

  • As soon as I see MSM or insert negative term left I grab for my trusty old tin foil Nam era skull cap. I understand that the idiots who sent us there and still believe we would have won if only we had destroyed more land and killed more Vietnamese actually fathered children. What a shame.

BTW, this morning while walking once again my mind wandered off into what if ville. You see about five percent of the guys who served with me in two tours of Nam have already died of a brain cancer that is associated with Agent Orange. The medical stats say the same kind of cancer is less than one in a hundred thousand of the males in my age group. Everyone of us that dies that way, really fun, about six weeks of pain, then it’s off to dementialand before succumbing in a coma, is another testament to greatness of conservatism.

  • Dubious Brother

@harvey lacey – I hate to point out the obvious, but the Democrats controlled the House and the Senate during the entire Viet Nam era and it was a Democrat (JFK) that initiated our involvement and a Democrat (LBJ) that escalated it. Conservatism indeed. Thank you for your service.

  • DB, I didn’t use the terms Republican or Democrat. Back in the day Democrats were as conservative as the Republicans on social issues like War and Hate.

It was conservatism that taught us that we would bomb our way to peace, hate our way to happiness, and pay for both without scarring our souls.

“It was conservatism that taught us that we would bomb our way to peace, hate our way to happiness, and pay for both without scarring our souls.” If this statement was not so delusional, it actually would be humorous. That said, thank you for your service.
