Mike Mooney Gets the Nieman Storyboard Treatment

|

This happened a couple days ago. But whatever. I was on vacation.

Mike Mooney wrote a story for our June issue about Lois Pearson, a lady who was abducted and raped by her former neighbor. (Side note: as a result of that story, someone donated a car to Pearson.) If you haven’t read the story yet, you should find 20 minutes today and do so. Mike did a fine job telling the tale, and Pearson’s bravery is something to behold.

The folks over at Harvard’s Nieman Foundation for Journalism thought highly of the story. In a Q&A with Mike, they broke it down — how he reported it, why he chose to structure it the way he did, and so forth. If you’re into that kind of thing, check it out.
