The Koller family was trekking from Ovilla to Richardson in the 9 o’clock hour last night, giving us prime views of fireworks displays from Waxahachie to White Rock. When we got to the Interstate 30 canyon, traffic slowed as drivers took in the impressive show being launched at Fair Park. Some drivers were so awestruck that they pulled over on the shoulder; a few even stopped on the ramp leading to Central Expressway. That seems extremely dangerous to me. Am I just being a ninny?
Follow-up question: I’ve often thought that flying into a major American city just after sundown on the Fourth of July would be amazing, given that you could see several fireworks displays from above. Has anyone out there ever done this? If so, is my theory correct?
