Actual Conversation Between Two Dallas County Employees

|

The following exchange just happened at the county clerk’s office:

Her: “How you doing?”

Him: “Sleepy.”

Her: “Stay up late?”

Him. “No. Just lazy.”

Minutes later, the following exchange happened between me and Her, after she issued a short-form copy of my son’s birth certificate:

Me: “What’s the advantage of the long-form certificate versus the short-form?”

Her: “Well, we don’t know what you’re using it for.”

Me: “Well, generally, what do people use them for?”

Her: “We don’t know.”

Thanks for your help!
