wow, that article was awfully harsh. I know nothing about the guy, but talk about kicking a man when he’s down. Crane got got more sympathy than this guy.

JWP will miss his good friend.

Love you Uncle Danny! You will be missed.

Danny ,I only knew you for a short while, but knew of you most of my life, regardless of what people say, it has been great knowing you. Wish I could see you now , walking like you used to, getting around better than ever. Hope you remember me when I get to come home, Buddy.

I worked at the City of Rowlett during this construction heyday and saw Danny quite frequently. I never saw so much gold nugget jewelry on one person! He had a huge personality, but you can’t negate what he did to bring such greed and financial havoc to the area. It is a story of Texas-sized proportions and the words “snake oil salesman” were often uttered somewhat affectionately by the locals while they didn’t know whether to join in the schemes or run like hell.

Who are these people who applaud this despicable crook? His crooked dealings caused many, many folks to lose their homes, their jobs, everything they had in life. Mourn him? Ha! Wish him well on the way to Hell.

I lived near Bobtown Rd and I-30 when he and his co-horts destroyed a growing area because of nothing but greed. The concrete slabs are still evident along that area. I was one of the lucky few who were able to sell and leave the area before home values dropped. Good riddance to him and other swindlers of that era. It seems that that breed of conartists still thrive in todays markets.

It’s nice for all of you to bring back past memories BUT you need to remember this man is now deceased. He has family and friends that love him very deeply. They don’t want bad things still being written about him. Please remember the family and friends!!!

    Thank you

I worked for Danny. He was a very gracious and giving gentlemen who would give you the shirt of your back. I can still hear him say “Love you Buddy”. RIP Danny. >^..^<

  • Diane

My previous quote…should have read “shirt of HIS back”. He was a very giving man.

I live out by Hubbard and drive by these blighted condos all the time. I can only wonder what might have been in this area had shady land deals not been part of the equation.
