The DMV Board has approved a new license plate design. Rejoice, all you proud parents of Highland Park Independent School District! Now you’ve got another vehicular tool to foster class envy. You’ve already got the bumper sticker that reads “Scots Tennis: We Know How To Raise a Racquet.” Mount that blue-and-gold right next to that sucker. Just stay out of the shadier parts of Southlake when you’re in that ride, unless you want some trouble.

Hold on to your kilts, Scots, your plate is coming. Highland Park Independent School District now has its own uniquely designed official Texas license plate. The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board approved it today. The plates are scheduled to go on sale in mid-August at www.myplates.com. Register your interest at www.myplates.com/go/hp.
The Highland Park plate has royal blue borders with the HP logo on the left highlighted in yellow and yellow letters for the “Go Scots” message along the bottom of the plate.
The TxDMV Board approval of the design is the final step in the process of becoming an official specialty plate in the State of Texas.
10% of each plate sale goes to the Highland Park Independent School District.
Highland Park joins ten other Texas high schools who have their own Texas specialty plate designs. They are Allen, Bishop Lynch, Carroll, Coppell, Jesuit Dallas, Keller, Lake Dallas, Liberty Christian, Longview, and Prosper.
The Scots plate is $55 for a one-year, background-only design, meaning without personalization. If you want a particular message on your Scots plate, personalization starts at $85 for one year.
