There’s really only one place to be tonight: helping to strengthen Dallas’ own fledgling repertory movie house, the Texas Theatre, by taking in the ultimate ode to the joy of film, Cinema Paradiso. They’re screening the director’s cut – not the shorter version that won the hearts of audiences all over the world and took home the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar. So if you’ve not seen it since it first appeared on American screens in 1990, there’s much more to enjoy this time around.
The event is the last in this year’s FrontRow Film Series, which has brought both much-loved and little-known movies to screen at unusual locations around town. This month’s pick comes from acclaimed Dallas actress Diana Sheehan. Theater-goers will recognize her from her role in Grey Gardens at WaterTower Theatre in 2009. Admission is free, but be sure to RSVP.
Need a great place to grab a bite to eat before the 7:30 showtime? Why not set the mood with some pizza nearby.
