We Have a Winner in the FrontBurner Trivia Contest

By Tim Rogers |

Three people came close to winning the booty. But there can be only one winner. Our judges have determined that Vic Dean has vanquished all contenders in the FrontBurner trivia contest. Dean missed two questions, but that was good enough to seal the victory. Congratulations, good sir. After the jump, the answers (and links) to the questions. My favorite has to be the audio of Eric snoring.

1. Robert Wilonsky Day, whereon we copied every post he put on Unfair Park for the entire day, slightly altering our information to make it appear as if we didn’t know we were being beaten to information he had

2. These three posts concerning Eric Celeste: audio of him sleeping, the day he wore French cuffs and got pilloried in comments, him playing pool shirtless.

3. FrontBurner’s very first post.

4. The picture of Wick’s flaming, spinning bow tie.

5. The post that introduced us to cactus juice. (Thank you, Sandra Crenshaw.)

6. The post that led to the punchline of thanking Mr. Simon. It began with Sarah’s review of Porch. She wrote, “Thank you, Tristan.” I believe the “Thanks, Tristan!” construction emerged in the comments to that post, and those comments have since been removed.

7. The post where we learned how to “Ranch Up.” (That was the first usage of the term. Though it became a meme, probably, here and here.)

8. The post wherein a new verb arose for holding hands or otherwise getting intimate with a loved one. I gave the hint that it was inspired by a law-enforcement officer. We’re talking about “kunkling,” of course.

9. The post in which Robert Wilonsky’s nickname arose.

Bonus question: Where do these former D Magazine employees now work? Paul Kix (Boston magazine), Adam McGill (Perry Street Communications), Rod Davis (Texas A&M University System), Trey Garrison (freelance, contributing editor to D)
