1. June Jones is bringing in real mustangs to inspire his Mustangs. Some of the SMU faithful fear that the Shetland ponies that have served as the team’s mascots since 1932 will be crowded out. When it comes to the image of a fearsome football team, size matters, sure. 3. Highland Park High School alumnus Clayton Kershaw got the Game 1 start for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series last night. He started strong, but fell apart in the fifth inning. The Dodgers lost, 8-6. I blame the 21-year-old southpaw’s lackluster playoff beard.
