Yeah, I don’t think that’s news either, but it showed up on the front page of the DMN site this morning. Well, okay, the fact that Sheeler managed to overcome fairly astronomical odds and win a ticket, I guess that’s something. I just hope his report from the service is better than his blog post about winning, which reads as though it was plucked from Sheeler’s LiveJournal site:
My Fourth of July festivities doesn’t normally include registering for tickets to Michael Jackson’s memorial. This past Saturday, I sat around Starbucks with my friends, logging on to the Staples Center Web site with our iPhones — along with 1.6 million other fans — in an attempt to get tickets. Personally, I had visions of Craigslist cash moonwalking toward my wallet. As soon as I hit the send button, the idea of attending Jackson’s service was replaced with July Fourth normalcy — pool party anxiety.
