I don’t get your reasoning, Glenn. If the Number One reason to keep the death penalty is because it is a deterrent, in the case you cite it obviously didn’t work.

On the other hand, if the reason we have the death penalty is because we’re outraged by horrific crimes and want to wreak revenge on their perpetuators, how do we know we have caught and convicted the right one?
