Two Carter Albrecht CD Release Events This Week

|

Carter Albrecht‘s posthumous solo debut, Jesus is Alive…and Living in London, has been around on iTunes for a month or so now. This week, though, it gets a proper introduction to the world starting with a listening party tonight at Bryan Street Tavern. (If you’re too lazy to hit that link, it kicks off at 6 p.m.) And then, on Thursday, the Granada Theater hosts a CD release shindig featuring a lineup of local all-stars filling in for Carter.

Many local musicians will perform songs from the album, other songs written by Carter, and songs inspired by or written about Carter.  CD’s and t-shirts will be available for purchase, and the lion’s share of proceeds will benefit the Carter Albrecht Music Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charity dedicated to the growth and betterment of music in Dallas by offering assistance in education, developing skills and improving the quality of life of its musicians.

I can’t be there tonight, but I hope to see some of you on Thursday.
