Jerry Foote, R.I.P

Back in the day, Jerry Foote was a professor at SMU’s Cox School of Business when I was working on my MBA. He helped me on my original business plan for D Magazine and encouraged me when I dropped out of the program to raise the money to make it happen. Jerry later took the entrepreneurial plunge himself. Daughter Holly Baird worked for D when I came back in the mid-90’s. He was one of the good guys, always pushing people to follow their dreams. Our condolences to his wife Janet, our beloved Holly, and all his family and friends.

Jerry was one of the first people we met when Mick & I were looking at SMU. We couldn’t have had a more gracious host. he was a most memorable man in so many ways.
