Bernie Madoff’s Fort Worth Victim Is Also A Star Violinist

Mikhail Barash made big money in the cellular business (in Turkmenistan! — why didn’t I think of that?) and lost some or most of it (he won’t say) to Madoff, according to Maria Recio in the Star-Telegram. But that’s the least interesting part of this story. The Russian violin virtuoso emigrated to Texas with the help of Fort Worth philanthropist Leon Brachman, damaged his hand in a car accident, had to scramble to find a new career… well, you need to read the whole thing. Amazing.

You would have an easier time getting a marriage license for a gay couple in Dallas than linking to “the whole thing” in this post.

    Fixed. Thanks, Dub.

THANK YOU MIKHAIL! Barash has had some tragedy, has endured, has overcome, and has triumphed. He is no whiner. He is a doer- (what- at times- used to be) the American way! I commend him on coming to America and living the dream. I hope more of us- already living here, born here, coming here- DO THE SAME. You can’t cry over spilled milk. And Barash didn’t. Now he owns some cows of his own!
