1. DISD trustees might decide to call for layoffs today, with as many as 750 jobs cut. Or they might not. If they don’t go ahead with layoffs today, there’s a pretty good chance they have decided on at least one budget cut: Dr. Michael Hinojosa. Oh, and they should find out if DISD’s Hail Mary pass (shifting some salaries over into the land of federal grant money) will work. Spoiler alert: it won’t.

2. More budget talk! The City Council approved the new $2.7 billion city budget in an 11-2 vote. If you know anything about recent votes around the horseshoe, you know who the two are. Hint: one said it was “an insult to the residents who pay taxes.” The other said, “It’s a terrible budget for the citizens of Dallas. People can’t afford it.” Oh, also? If you’re not from Dallas, you really don’t want to get into an accident in Dallas. But the city has around $1 million hoping you will.

3. Finally, an Army Reserves sergeant who’s a student at Dallas Baptist had his ride pimped against his will: someone sprayed “soldiers are murderers” over the hood of his yellow Jeep Wrangler. I’m kind of immediately regretting the decision to put that last item up, just because of the dozens of threadjacks likely to occur in the comments. Do your best to stay on point.
