I just now read Stefan Fatsis’ review of HBO’s Hard Knocks. I’m a fan of Fatsis (Word Freak, anyone?), but I think he missed the mark on this one. He makes the claim, “[the show is] terrific entertainment, but it’s not journalism” — as though someone might have expected one and got the other. He also makes the point that T.O.’s skipping stones into the ocean just might have been an unnatural act Owens did solely for the cameras. Shocking, I know. I’m going to miss Hard Knocks when it’s gone, because for the day and a half after I catch an episode, I hear Liev Schreiber in my head, narrating my every move. (The same thing happens when I watch consecutive episodes of Survivorman. Chick-a-chickahh.)
