Nicola Rescigno, R.I.P.

With Larry Kelly, he built the Dallas Opera, using his charm and talent to attract the greatest singers in the world to the stage at the Music Hall. He was, of course, temperamental and demanding in service to his art, and he produced some of the most memorable nights this city has ever seen. The NYTimes obit is here.

    Someone’s probably already paid for it, but it would be fitting if the new Winspear house would name something in his honor, like the performance hall.
