1. The Rev. C.A.W. Clark, Sr., a “master of the pulpit” who turned Good Street Baptist Church into one of Dallas’ first black megachurches, died yesterday. He was 93.

2. More than 150 people, up in arms over the proposed move of Jenny the elephant to the Africam Safari Park in Mexico, staged a protest at the Dallas Zoo. The group calls itself Concerned Citizens for Jenny, though I think we can all agree that Jabari’s Army or the Mourning Zoo would have been completely acceptable substitutes.

3. Jessica Simpson is set to jinx the Cowboys’ season even earlier than last yearmake an appearance at Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, says her press-shy father Joe. Where is Jabari’s Army when you need it?
