JWP: “They Might as Well Call it White Jack!”

John Wiley Price didn’t say that in yesterday’s county commissioners meeting, a special session regarding problems with traffic tickets and the central collections office. But he came close enough, after fellow commissioner Kenneth Mayfield called the central collections office a “black hole.” That prompted this:

[Price] interrupted him with a loud “Excuse me!” He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a “white hole.” That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.
