A while ago, Wick pointed to a pending deadline for Arlington ISD superintendent Hector Montenegro to turn in his list of consulting income. Yesterday, Hector Montenegro resigned.
(You know that move that blackjack dealers do when they’re headed on a break? The one where they sort of clap-clap then turn palms skyward, to the overseeing security cameras? I wish I knew a tidier way of typing that. Clap-clap makes it sound like I’m applauding. Pish-posh is onomatopoeically closer but no more descriptive. It needs to be something that describes the hand motion and sums up the sentiment: That takes care of that.)
Anyway, insert that here.
UPDATE: Trey reminds me (in comments) when the as-yet-unnamed-gesture was discussed. It was in this story, referencing Officer Fernando Perez’s actions after witnessing a motorcyclist he had been chasing go over the edge of the High Five interchange. Trey wrote, “On the video shot from his dashboard camera, he looks nonchalant. Without looking down at his palms, Perez made a one-two hand wipe. Brushing off dirt. Saying, ‘That’s done.'” Descriptive and well-written. But I still think there’s a succinct way to say it.
