Arlington Man Second in Chips in WSOP

As erstwhile Dallasite Dan Michalski notes, we’ve got a hometown boy in the World Series of Poker. Craig Marquis, an online player from Arlington, is second in chips, with the big tournament down two just three tables. Top prize is a shade over $9 million.

In related news, the new Texas Hold Em app for the iPhone is the best thing in the history of ever.

Haven’t got that one – but so far am highly disappointed in the apps. There is no great game, no fantastic time saver, no “killer” app I didn’t know I needed and now cannot live without.

When I read about the apps being developed for the Android (Google’s phone platform) in Wired I thought Apple would have something like those and more when they launched theirs, they certainly do not. And the cost seems a bit unreasonable for the product (apps only, not the phone in general, which I love). Since they waited and brought this as the new big feature I expected a lot more. Oh well.

ROJ: I dunno man…they’re a lot of pretty sweet apps I’ve got pandora, aol radio, midomi just to name 3. My phone keeps freezing when I try to view pics I’ve saved from my email, so I got all kinds of other problems going on….I did expect a couple more cool games, so that is a little of a letdown.
