Nick Fazekas, the Mavericks’ top draft choice this year, has made the most of his rookie season, the bulk of which has found him toiling in Oklahoma for the Mavs’ NBA Development League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers. He’s averaging a tidy 18.9 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Solid stuff. That earns him a spot in the D-League All-Star game, slated to happen on February 16 in New Orleans as part of the real league’s All-Star festivities. Well done, Nick. Now stop running like a newborn unicorn and we’re all set. (Also: MVP of the D-League game will be Morris Almond. Guaranteed.)
