Sad News

Dallas — heck, the world — lost a special person on Saturday morning, as Leigh Tomlinson passed away. I met her about a year ago through a mutual friend, only to discover she and I had more than a half dozen mutual friends. It was a wonder we hadn’t crossed paths before, and I wish I could say we made up for lost time. Leigh, an actress who co-wrote the highly successful Porn for Puritans, was witty, generous, and vivacious. When we met, she was recovering from breast cancer. Doctors thought she had it beat, except she didn’t. The cancer spread to her lungs, spine, and brain. She was 47.

Update: Apologies. As Robin pointed out in the comments, Leigh was 46 and would want that known. Also, I meant to pass along Leigh’s blog, if you care to get to know her better.

Adam – I’m so sad about Leigh, I haven’t seen her in awhile. We did yoga together at the time she was going through her boyfriends illness and eventual death – what a tragedy for such a lovely, fun lady.

Leigh was 46. (I think) She would want to error on the younger side if I am wrong. She was an amazing singer, actress, friend, patient….. I will miss her every day.

Leigh and I spoke often about how spirits live on after the body is gone….she has made her spirit (self) known to me daily since about an hour after her last breath on Saturday. She promised me she would, and she really really has….I love her

I have been neighbors with Leigh for two and a half years now and she will be missed in our neighborhood. I mainly knew Leigh through our dogs. They liked to visit in the dog park and on walks and for some reason…Leigh and I would laugh about it…Happy liked to poop in my front yard. Leigh was so good about throwing the ball for Happy in the field behind our houses even when you knew she wasn’t feeling well. When I saw someone I didn’t recognize walking Happy I was concerned. Thank you for all of the details about what a talented woman she was.
