This Is Not a Review of the New Tecolé Taco House

|

Listen, I’m not a dining critic. I’ll leave it to Nancy “Monkey Paw” Nichols and/or Teresa Gubbins to deliver the magazine’s official take on Tecolé. But Eric and I ate lunch there yesterday, and, in my humble opinion, it was something. Our dining companion was a man who has spent some time in Mexico City. He, too, was impressed. Wonderful chile relleno — light, crunchy fried exterior with sumptuous, raisin-studded chicken mole interior. Blue crab tacos were out of sight. As were the smoked short rib tacos and the carnitas tacos. Each was made more delicious by topping it with jalapeños pickled in-house with apple cider vinegar.

In short, it rocked. Thank you, Feargal.
