So I’m driving the very short distance from my house to D HQ today with my radio turned to 106.1 KissFM. Kidd Kraddick is wrapping up his show, and apparently he thinks the best way to wrap is to make fun of D Magazine. I only caught the end of the conversation, but basically Kidd was making fun of us for calling our annual “Best Of” issue “The Best of Big D.” He thinks “it’s stupid,” (that’s a direct quote), and I guess he thinks we should just call it “The Best of D.”
Huh. Wait a second, didn’t we just have a party that benefited Kidd’s charity, Kidd’s Kids? And wasn’t it for our “Best of Big D” issue (that’s him above, with Kelly and Big Al, at the party). Oh, okay — so basically Kidd is making fun of a magazine that brought it lots of money for his organization.
Help me, FBvians. Maybe I heard the conversation wrong. I met Kidd for the first time at the party, and he seemed like a really nice guy. Or maybe Kidd is just about as cool as that blazer he was wearing that night (right, Tim?).
