Arresting New Developments In Dallas Police Corruption

|

There’s still no final report on the internal investigation, but our little June exposé on a ring of four dirty cops in the Dallas Police Department is having wider consequences. This week’s paper version of Unfair Park has a great story about more shenanigans by Senior Corporal David Kattner, one of the four ethically challenged gendarmes who spent his work time in the Central precinct writing bogus tickets and making false arrests while other cops — good cops — had to carry his weight.

The takeaway is that attorney George Milner, in an effort to defend a client from a charge arising from an illegal search, is going to shine a pretty bright spotlight on an internal investigation the Dallas Police Department would like to quietly slip into a dark corner. Let’s hope. The four officers in question need to be held accountable.
