FB Nation, we have a problem. Yesterday, I posted an item (now expunged) from a FrontBurnervian whose name I didn’t recognize. It came without introduction or explanation. But I thought it was clever, so I put it up. I replied to the guy and told him I enjoyed it. A few minutes later, he sent me a return note expressing his surprise that I’d posted it. Then, a few minutes after that, he sent another note admitting that he’d ripped off someone else in composing the original item about where the presidents might have gone to school. He sent a link. I was in a rush and — assuming he’d ripped off the concept of whatever it was he was linking to — didn’t follow the link.
Well, comes now another FBvian who cries foul and passes along what I assume must be the same link, a column written by Bill McClellan, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. And it ain’t just the concept that was ripped off; it was the whole dang thing, with just the names of the St. Louis schools replaced by schools here in town.
My apologies to McClellan and his paper.
