Local Couple Learns What Their House Is Worth

By Tim Rogers |

An alert FBvian alerts us:

Ahhh, more Dallasites on reality TV. Fortunately, (well, maybe unfortunately) this show is not the cleavage-baring or knuckle-dragging variety like Temptation Island, etc, etc. Matt and Rhonda Cleaves of east Dallas will appear on HGTV’s My House is Worth What? on Tuesday, July 17, at 10 p.m. That’s an almost ghetto time slot for their non-ghetto Lakewood home, don’t you think? At least it’s not airing early Sunday morning.

Matt’s singer-songwriter cousin, Slaid Cleaves, will not be this episode’s balladeer a la Jonathan Richman in Something About Mary, or Waylon Jennings in The Dukes of Hazzard. But, damn, that’s a good idea.

Side note: we played this game yesterday with Eric. He’s somewhat of a savant when it comes to guessing how much a home is worth (comes from surfing house porn too much on the Ebby site). Give Eric a neighborhood, a square footage, and a few details (redone bath and kitchen? attached garage?), and he can guess a value within about 5 percent.
