Asko Dishwashers: Unsafe at Any Speed

|

A FrontBurnervian with clean flatware says:

Asko, a Swedish company with US distribution headquarters in Richardson, makes excellent, extremely expensive appliances (its dishwashers top out at a list price of $1,879). On Saturday, we received a recall notice telling us to discontinue using ours immediately because of a fire hazard and giving a number to call for free repair. A call to the number yielded the information that wait times were up to 60 minutes and giving their web site, which, idiotically, doesn’t allow customers to schedule appointments.  Just passed the hour mark on hold, my anger only slightly mollified by the fact that they’re playing excellent jazz.

No company wants to have to recall its products. The good ones do it with a smile and excellent customer service, including an adequate number of lines and operators. When the time comes to replace our Asko dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer, you can be sure that we’ll buy another brand.
