At the House of Blues. Look, I know the HoB doesn’t seem very rock and roll. I, too, judged it too … shiny to be a good music venue. But that was before I went in the place and took in a show — and what a show it was last night. Small in number but big in sound, the John Butler Trio blew the doors off that place. HoB has great acoustics, its balcony seating is comfy and close, and when I told Leslie the bartender that she’s the best bartender in Dallas, I meant it. I’d ordered four cocktails for our group, all of which were tasty. About 45 minutes later, when it was my turn to get another round, Leslie remembered all four drinks. And, again, they were tasty.
