Kenny Goss and George Michael have started a non-profit foundation (appropriately called The Goss-Michael Foundation) dedicated to promoting and inspiring young artists. A major component of the organization will be the Goss-Michael Collection, a $200 million private art collection that, as we were told repeatedly in a press release, is “sexually charged” and “sexually provocative” and will evoke a “sexual frenzy” (read: pretty pictures of nekkid people). They must be taking cues from another local publication. More information on the rotating collection, the first of which is on display now, after the (might as well, go ‘head and) jump.
The Goss-Michael Collection: Consisting of solely 20th and 21st century art by established and emerging British artists, the non-profit Goss-Michael Collection is housed at 2500 Cedar Springs, the site of the former Goss Gallery. The collection is owned by musician George Michael and his partner Kenny Goss. Michael and Goss have captured the attention of major art dealers worldwide for their dedication and commitment to enhancing their collection. In an effort to give back to the Dallas community through art, The Goss-Michael Collection will present works of various mediums from emerging and contemporary British artists on a quarterly rotating schedule. The Goss-Michael Collection will be one facet of the newly established Goss-Michael Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting and inspiring young artists. More information can be found at www.gossmichaelcollection.org.
Hours: Tuesday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm, Saturday 11:00am-4:00pm, Monday by appointment only.
