On May 10, the North Texas Alarm Association is hosting a mayoral forum at McFarlin Auditorium, on the SMU campus. All 11 candidates have been invited to participate (not certain who has so far confirmed). Your emcee for the evening will be Mark Davis, of WBAP. Panelists will be: James Ragland of the DMN, Bill Zeeble of KERA, Dan Schill from SMU, and [cough, cough] me. Tickets won’t cost you nothing. And part of the forum will include questions from the general public.
Submit your questions here.
Update: I’m told by the organizers that all but three candidates have confirmed for the evening. Oakley said no. Griffith said maybe. They both voted against the NTAA when they were on the Council and might be suspicious of the lobbying group’s motives. (But I can tell you that their only stipulation was that the first part of the forum deal with questions about public safety; all questions will either come from the panelists or the public.) Organizers haven’t had much luck getting in touch with Jennifer Gale. Gale, if you’re reading this, check your voicemail.
